She is a board member of the United Plant Savers, a group working to protect at-risk medicinal plants in North America. Bevin is the current President of the American Herbalists Guild where she works to promote clinical herbalism accessibility and professionalism.
Live Music by Rising Appalachia
Rising Appalachia was founded by sisters Leah and Chloe Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. The sisters work with an array of international musicians and they incorporate a variety of sounds inspired by their world travels merged with the music influences of their own southern roots. Although Leah and Chloe consider their voices as their primary instrument, Leah also plays banjo and bodhran on their newest album Leylines, while Chloe plays guitar, fiddle, and banjo.
Join Certified Aromatherapist Christine Rice as she covers aromatherapy and essential oil basics. Topics include: what are essential oils and how they are made, safety and storage, dilutions and appropriate use, basic blending, and easy ways to incorporate essential oils into your daily life.
Christine is the Mountain Rose Herbs Director of Product Development and Products as well as our staff Certified Aromatherapist. A longtime team member with over a decade at MRH under her belt, Christine oversees the quality and approval of the essential oils and hydrosols that Mountain Rose Herbs offers. She manages and knows the intimate details of all our current products (no small task with over 3,000 offerings!), and she also researches and selects new and exciting herbal goodies to keep our customers inspired. Born and raised in the Midwest, Christine has considered Oregon a home since 2000. When away from the office, she enjoys gardening, running around with her energetic little one, canning and food preservation, homebrewing beer and wine, and spending time outdoors.
Botanically Speaking (Virtual Plant Walk)
As part of our first ever ONLINE Free Herbalism Project, we're releasing a special feature "from the field"—an interpretive plant walk with herbal educator and award-winning Director of Quality here at Mountain Rose Herbs, Steven Yeager! Follow along as Steven educates and entertains us through the trails of the beautiful Mount Pisgah Arboretum, covering an engaging mix of topics including botanical terminology, plant identification, basics herbal uses, and edible vs. poisonous plants, depending on what we find along the path.
