Technology Project Specialist 

 Location: Eugene, Oregon

Position "Floor" starts at $28.00/hour DOE

This position must follow all applicable Regulatory, Oregon Tilth regulations, Safety regulations, and GMP compliance at all times.

Supervised by: IT Director

General Description: This is a full-time position responsible for assisting the IT Director in the execution of IT department daily procedures, projects, and communication within the IT team. Technology Project Specialist will be an IT Department team member, involved in scoping, planning, scheduling, task assignment, interdepartmental coordination, and delivery of internal and externally facing IT solutions, applications, and services.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Perform organized, accurate work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Perform accurate record keeping and data entry, including advanced typing and computer skills, and excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Work with project stakeholders with various technical knowledge levels and effectively communicate to ensure proper requirements, dependencies, and schedules are understood throughout the organization.
  • Communicate effectively and competently with IT Director and escalate any technical issues, roadblocks, or project risks to the IT Director.
  • Experience with standard project management/software development lifecycle tools like Jira, Trello, and Microsoft Planner is desired.
  • Possess professional demeanor and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and patience.
  • The ability to work independently and without direct supervision on a regular basis is critical.
Skill set highly desired:
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to self-direct and effectively manage assignments are necessary for this position.
  • Working experience in an IT department and a basic understanding of IT Networks, Windows, Hardware, and web sites is preferred.
  • Working experience and knowledge of e-commerce platform dashboards and admin tools.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Dependability: is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback for improved performance.
  2. Following MRH procedures and protocols
  3. Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and technologies
  4. Providing functional project support for collecting and analyzing data and preparing project materials.
  5. Provide project support by tracking milestones and completion of tasks and following up on outstanding matters in a proactive and timely fashion.
  6. Assist with developing detailed plans and schedules for the scopes of projects, as well as communication plans which detail how and when information will be shared with stakeholders, constituents, and other team members.
  7. Coordinate efforts between departments and external participants and participate in planning implementation tasks, including training, follow-up support, and performing needs/outcomes assessment
  8. Help develop and implement project testing plans for development projects.
  9. Coordinate software releases, hardware implementations and changes, and resource roadmaps with IT Departmentstaff and MRH Production Teams.
  10. Work in conjunction with IT Director, internal stakeholders, other developers and third-party contractors in the development and execution of technical project plans.
  11. Other duties as assigned. 

 Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds or more
  • Pushing a mobile cart
  • Working in a fast pace environment
  • Exposure to herb dust and strong aromatics
  • Eyesight to see the screen and read small fonts and numbers for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for long periods at a computer station
  • Associated bending, stooping, twisting and moving around perform tasks.

  • Computer Software: MS Office 365, MS Windows 10, Adobe line of web and graphics applications, BigCommerce Platform, GitHub, and Development Environments.

  • Filing equipment
