Label Press Technician
Location: Eugene, Oregon
This position must follow regulatory, Oregon Tilth regulations, Safety regulations, and GMP compliance at all times.
General Description: Mountain Rose Herbs is a progressive company seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. This is a full-time, fast paced position which requires working under strict deadlines.
The starting wage for this position will be $18.00/hour DOE
Supervised by: Label Press Technician Manager
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Must have the ability to perform quick and accurate work with a strong attention to detail and efficiency.
- Must have the ability to communicate competently with particularly for any questions, concerns or issues that arise.
- Possess the ability to follow instructions and work well with others in a team orientated environment.
- Position requires the ability to "shift gears" at a moment's notice and have a Professional Attitude.
Essential Job Functions:

- Follow all protocols to ensure both Organic and GMP standards as well as confirming that all staff in the production area follows these protocols as well.
- Assisting the Label Coordinator in the printing finished product labels by means of the In-House Label Request form. This includes but is not limited to:
- Printing requested labels for multiple production departments, including large runs or one-off requests.
- Printing extra label requests for wholesale customers.
- Updating lot numbers and bulk weights as needed.
- Working with multiple label programs and databases.
- Running multiple printers at a time.
- Ensuring request paperwork is filled out properly and all documentation and procedures are followed.
- Ensuring labels are printing accurately with a keen eye to spacing and detail. Working with the Label Coordinator to adjust document files or printer settings as needed.
- Preparing labels for transfer to production areas.
- Assist in monitoring the inventory of materials and supplies as needed. Informing the Label Coordinator when supplies are low.
- Monitor cleanliness and safety of the work areas and informing the Label Coordinator of any concerns.
- Assist in thorough and proper training of new label printing staff.
- Place labels in box (kit) prepared for order and distribute to the appropriate department.
- Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical requirements may include but are not limited to:
- Working in a fast paced, dusty and/or potentially hazardous environment (with proper use safety equipment and protocols)
- Exposure to strong aromatics
- Lifting up to 50 pounds or more (with assistance when needed), pushing, pulling, moving heavy boxes but not less than 5-20 pounds continuously.
- Stooping, bending at knees, bending at the waist associated with retrieving and/or stocking finished and blank from upper and lower shelves.
- Being on one's feet most of the day either while at a fixed station or walking while monitoring equipment.
- Associated twisting, bending, pulling, manual dexterity, etc. as necessary to complete the printing tasks.

Computer Skills:
- Label data base as well as printing software including: Adobe InDesign, VersaWorks, Rip software, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Bartender.
- Other software may be introduced as well at a later time.
Equipment Used:
- Computer with keyboard and mouse,
- Printers and label machines which include but are not limited to: Eco-solvent printers, Ink based printers, toner-based printers, thermal transfer printers, laminators, varnish applicators, unwinders/rewinders, matrix removers, and roll lift equipment.
- Specific equipment includes: Roland, Afinia, Data-max, and “Mark Andy” Flexo brands
- Other necessary equipment with proper training and safety precautions in place.
