QC Sampling Technician

Location: Eugene, Oregon

General Description: The QC Sampling Technician is required to work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule. This is a full-time, fast-paced position which requires working under strict deadlines. Performing a variety of tasks related to Quality Control (QC) sampling. This job requires the ability to work quickly, cleanly, and efficiently with a keen eye for quality and detail.

This position starts at $18.00/hr. 

Knowledge Skills and abilities required:

  • Perform quick and accurate work with a strong attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness per SOP of all areas connected to QC Sampling.

  • Maintain accurate record keeping and have legible handwriting.

  • Communicate competently with QC Manager for any questions or concerns that may arise.

  • Communicate in an effective and timely manner with other members of the QC department teams as well as Receiving/Inventory personnel.
  • Follow instructions and work well with others in a team orientated environment.

  • Shift gears at a moment's notice and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a valid, clean Oregon Driver’s License.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Be dependable – consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, and respond to management feedback.

  2. Be proactive – continue to develop skills, gain additional knowledge, and solicit feedback for improved performance.

  3. Exhibit effective and timely communication with QC Manager as well as other Department Heads.

  4. Follow MRH procedures and protocols; including policies set out for the QC department.

  5. Exhibit a keen eye for detail and extremely accurate record keeping skills.

  6. Follow MRH sampling SOPs, procedures, and protocols.

  7. Demonstrate required general cleaning and upkeep of QC areas that may include both Sampling and Laboratory areas.

  8. Sample all incoming materials for laboratory testing and QC approval.
    • This includes oils, butters, herbs, teas, etc.

  9. Lifting containers onto sorting table. (50 pounds or more)

  10. Inspecting materials for extraneous matter, filth, insect activity, and visible mold.

  11. Recording findings onto all applicable logs and communicating with QC personnel in an efficient and timely manner.

  12. Repackaging of sampled material.

  13. Regular attendance

  14. Assist in other areas of the QC department as needed.

  15. Willingness to learn new skills, techniques, and equipment.

  16. Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements may include but are not limited to: 

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds or more on a continuous basis.

  • Being on one’s feet most of the day and working at a stationary position for long periods of time.

  • Pushing a mobile cart or pallet jack.

  • Working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exposure to herb dust and strong aromatics.

  • Associated bending, stooping, twisting, and moving around sorting area as well as administrative area and QC Lab.
